Swedish authorities say US rapper, A$AP, real name Rakim Mayers, should be held for two weeks while investigations on assault and violence allegations are being carried out.
Prosecutors want the US rapper to be formally arrested over a street brawl in downtown Stockholm and suggested that he be held for at least two weeks.
He was arrested together with his bodyguards after engaging in a fight.
The Swedish Prosecution Authority says the accused and two of his bodyguards should be arrested because “there is a risk that they escape (or) could obstruct justice if freed.”
The rapper was involved in a fight on Sunday before he made an appearance at a music festival in Sweden.
He however defended himself accusing the involved parties as drug addicts who had pestered his entourage.
A detention hearing would likely be held Friday.
