Sweden’s job market fingered as one of the worst for immigrants

Sweden’s job market is one of the worst for people born outside of the country, a study has revealed.

Sweden has been listed as one of the worst countries ‘for trying to get a job interview if you’re perceived to be an immigrant from outside Europe, suggests a new international study.’

The journal of sociological science found that “significant discrimination against nonwhite natives in all countries.”

“Discrimination against white immigrants is present but low. However, discrimination rates vary strongly by country: In high-discrimination countries, white natives receive nearly twice the callbacks of nonwhites; in low-discrimination countries, white natives receive about 25 per cent more. France has the highest discrimination rates, followed by Sweden.”


The other countries examined were Great Britain, Canada, Belgium, the Netherlands, Norway, the United States, and Germany, with the last showing the lowest level of discrimination.
