US President Donald Trump, accused of raping a writer in a New York department store, has flatly denied the allegations, saying the woman in question was not her type.
Trump says his accuser, E. Jean Carroll was “totally lying” about the alleged attack.
“I’ll say it with great respect: Number one, she’s not my type. Number two, it never happened. It never happened, OK?” Trump was quoted as saying.
Carroll, 75, alleged while writing in a New York magazine last week that she was raped by Trump and said she would consider pressing charges.
She is the 16th woman to accuse Trump of sexual misconduct.
The writer alleged that she met with Trump at a Bergdorf Goodman store in Manhattan in late 1995 or early 1996 while shopping.
Trump allegedly asked her for advice when buying lingerie for another woman and jokingly asked her to model it for him before following him in the changing rooms.
It is alleged Trump lunged at her, pinned her against a wall and forced himself on her.
Trump however denied even knowing Carroll despite being pictured with her in New York magazine alongside details of her allegations.
