United States President Donald Trump is battling to fight accusations that he raped a writer in the dressing room of a New York Department store over 20 years ago.
E Jean Carroll, an advice columnist for a fashion magazine, claimed that Trump, a billionaire businessman in his own right, forced himself on her in the 90s.
Writing in the New York Magazine, Carroll described the encounter with the real estate mogul at a Bergdorf Goodman store in Manhattan sometime in 1995 or 1996.
But Trump was quick to dismiss the allegations by the columnist.
It is alleged by Carrol that Trump pushed her up against a dressing room wall, pulled down her tights and assaulted her in an episode that lasted about three minutes.
She said that she pushed him off in what she described as a “colossal struggle” and ran from the store.
Trump described the accusation as “fake news” and said there was no evidence of the encounter.
“I’ve never met this person in my life,” Trump claimed.
Trump was accused by several women of sexual abuse ahead of the Presidential election in 2016.
